Non-Greasy, Odorless Flea and Tick Collar

Find the right collar for your dog

Use your dog’s weight to determine which size is right for them.

  • Small: dogs up to 18 pounds. Fits neck size 5-11.75 inches
  • Large: dogs over 18 pounds. Fits neck size 10.5-23 inches

The Seresto large dog collar was designed with no upper weight limit.

Water-resistant

Seresto remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months.

In order to maintain an 8-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once a month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to five months for flea control and reduced to seven months for tick control.

How does it work?

Active ingredients are stored in the collar’s innovative polymer matrix and released in low concentrations across your dog’s coat and skin for 8 months. Fleas and ticks are killed through contact, and don’t have to bite your dog to die.

How to Apply

Step 1

Insert the end of the collar through the buckle.

Step 2

Adjust the collar around the dog’s neck without it being too tight or too loose. It should be possible to enter two fingers comfortably.

Step 3

Pull excess collar through the loop(s). Collar length greater than 1 inch beyond the loop(s) should be cut off unless it is on a growing puppy.

I have never had a flea problem before. Where are my pets picking up fleas?

Fleas are very hardy pests that are quite capable of hitching rides on a variety of mammals. Wild animals or feral pets traveling through the environment may be a source for a pet’s exposure.Fleas may be brought to the house by: * You – attached to clothing, luggage, dog blankets, etc. * Your pet – any time your pet steps outside your house, they are potentially exposed to fleas, especially in areas where there are other animals. * Stray or homeless cats and dogs – since these animals are not being cared for, they are easy targets for fleas. A single feral cat walking through your backyard even just one time may drop many flea eggs into the grass or under shrubs. * Wildlife – particularly raccoons and opossums. These animals typically aren’t seen very often, because they are active at night. A single opossum can carry as many as 1,000 adult fleas! An opossum walking through your backyard even just one time can drop many flea eggs into the grass or under shrubs as they pass through. * Non-treated pets in the household – most dogs are treated for fleas and ticks. Often, the cats in the household are not, especially if they are indoor only cats. * Non-treated pets in the neighborhood – you may be vigilant about treating your pets for fleas, but your neighbor(s) may not.

What are the benefits of Seresto?

Inside the unique polymer matrix of Seresto are two active ingredients:

  • Imidacloprid has been used in products for years to control flea infestations.
  • Flumethrin effectively repels and kills ticks.Flumethrin works together with imidacloprid to provide dual action against fleas and ticks. No other treatment has this combination of ingredients. The active ingredients spread from the site of direct contact over the skin surface of the cat or dog.*Sustained release technology*Seresto works similarly to a monthly topical, but as the active ingredients wear off over time, a new supply is continuously replenished in low concentrations. The active ingredients spread from the site of direct contact over the skin surface.Bayer’s polymer matrix technology is designed to slowly and continuously release the active ingredients for eight months, a duration that makes it clearly different from other flea and tick collars.

Is Seresto water resistant?

Seresto is water resistant. The active ingredients of Seresto are contained within the Bayer Polymer Matrix, making it water-resistant. Therefore it is unnecessary to remove the collar before the pet is immersed in water. Seresto remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming, or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for eight months. In order to maintain an 8-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to five months for fleas and seven months for ticks.

What if my cat or small dog gets stuck while wearing a Seresto collar?

Because some pet owners may be concerned that a cat or small dog could get stuck while wearing a collar, Seresto is designed with a safety release mechanism. In the unlikely event of the cat being trapped, the cat’s own strength is sufficient to widen the collar to allow for quick release.A hard pull causes the ratchet-release mechanism to allow a widening of the collar. The small dog and cat collars are equipped with a predetermined breaking point. A harder pull triggers the breaking of the collar at this point.

What is the expiration date for Seresto for dogs?

There is no expiration date required on the packaging by the EPA for this product. The product should be kept in its original packaging and stored as directed on the label.

When can I bathe my dog after application of Seresto for dogs?

We recommend bathing BEFORE applying product. Seresto is water-resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months. In order to maintain an eight-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to 5 months for flea control and reduced to 7 months for tick control. There is no need to remove the collar for bathing. Please use a non-stripping, pet shampoo.

How often can I allow my dog to swim when using Seresto for dogs?

Seresto is water-resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to 5 months for flea control and reduced to 7 months for tick control. There is no need to remove the collar for swimming.

How often can I bathe my dog when using Seresto for dogs?

We recommend bathing BEFORE applying monthly product. The product can be applied once the pet is towel dried. We suggest using non-stripping shampoos that are specifically designed for use on pets. ‘Non-stripping’ shampoos are generally soap free formulations designed for general cleansing. Bayer makes a variety of shampoos that are non-stripping, general cleansing shampoos.* Seresto is water-resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months. In order to maintain an eight-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. There is no need to remove the collar for bathing.

How do I store and dispose of Seresto?

Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal. Storage: Store in the original unopened container in a cool, dry place that is inaccessible to children. Disposal: Dispose of container, pouch and expired collar in trash.

How can I verify the legitimacy of this collar?

Seresto.online is an authorized retailer of Seresto® products, which means we purchase the products we sell directly from Elanco, the maker of Seresto®. If you would like to verify the legitimacy of your collar, call Elanco’s veterinary team at 1-800-255-6826.

Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet’s coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

  • The most effective solution fleas

We were battling fleas for about 2 years. We moved to the country and we had them everywhere. I haven’t seen a flea on either of my dogs since. We change them between 8 and then. Months. This is my fourth time purchasing the Seresto colors. I didn’t have to pay for a visit to the vet to get them to administer a shot or a pills. 2hich had worked on our previous 4 dogs. However it was ineffective on our Maltes,Poodle and shit-zu breed. I was surprised that Sorento really worked. The only negative is they are a little pricey

  • Works well for my little 6lb maltipoo!

Got a small dog, get the one for a small dog. It’s easy to overlook. Eight months is a whole lotta time for a flea collar, and the cost reflects that too. This will be my second one because it worked well the first time. I say If it works don’t fix it by trying different ways to control fleas. Also comes with reflective tabs if needed. Five Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

  • It works!

This product has worked wonders. This is the first summer my dog has ever had fleas, so I was freaking out on what to do. I tried natural remedies but they didn’t work. I even tried the topical solution from advantix; it didn’t work. So I decided to try this and it really works. I dont see any flea bites on my dog and she was covered in them. I have seen 1 or 2 fleas on her every once in a while but the collar does its job.

  • Best tick protection ever!

Amazing! We rescued a border terrier pup last summer. I immediately started treating her with Frontline Plus, a product they has always worked for me before. Frontline prevented fleas but had absolutely no effect on ticks, we were constantly pulling them off her. Seresto however has been 100% effective against fleas and ticks. In the 2 months since wearing the collar we found 2 dead ticks on my dog, that’s it. Compare that to the 28 live ticks and 6 engorged ticks she had in March. Seresto is amazing and has worked perfectly. The $60 price tag for one collar seems high but the collar lasts up to 8 months, that’s $7.50 a month compared to Frontline’s $25. If you bathe your dog more than once a month the collar lasts 6 months, but that’s still only $10 a month and still cheaper than frontline. I’ve only had the collar 2 months so I’m not sure it will last the entire 6-8 months but since it’s 100% effective I would gladly replace it more often.

I NEVERRRRRR write reviews but I had to for this product! It has worked a literally miracle for my boxer! He’s an outside dog and one day I noticed he had hundreds of fleas on him. He also had some scars from scratching so much. I tried several flea baths that just didn’t work.

When I started researching flea collars I became VERY skeptical because there a lot of reviews about them irritating the dogs skin. But there were many more good reviews also.

So I bought the 8 month Seresto collar and put it on my dog. I watch him very closely for the first 2 weeks and realized that the collar won’t harm my boxer. Great! Now let’s talk about results…

Within 2 days, like the products claims, the hundreds of fleas were literally down to about 20-30ish. I gave him 2 flea baths within those first 4 days and he was FLEA FREE! No more scratching every couple of seconds. It’s now about 45 days later and ALL of his scratch scars have healed. He’s way more at ease and comfortable because he’s not being irritating by those damn fleas anymore.

I definitely recommend this to everyone.
    BUY IT! 🙂

I buy these flea collars every year around April or May for both my uncooperative dogs (that’s the best picture I could get from either one of them) and remove them in December since they’re only good for about 8 months or so. Neither of my dogs have ever had any fleas, etc. These seem to be the most effect & cost affordable option that works for us. Before I was giving them a monthly medication to help prevent fleas, but even that didn’t work as well as these collars do and it was more expensive.

  • Works on fleas not ticks

We purchased this product twice now. It lasts for 6-8 months and we had no issues keeping the collar on during baths. It stays effective and keeps the fleas away but we still see ticks on our Shih Tzu once a while.
